I recently bought a 68 Chevelle Malibu. It now has an aftermarket steering wheel. I want to replace it with an original but can't find a parts diagram that shows the parts for the turn signals, horn contacts, etc... Can anyone help? It is non-power steering with no tilt.

Maybe I'm the only one confused. You said you want to restore it to original, but your looking for parts on an after market wheel........or do you want info on the original wheel in a 68 Malibu?

Sorry for the confusion. I want to scrap the after market wheel and need info on the original wheel and associated hardware for the horn contact, turn signal cancel, etc...

Robert...My guess is, the reason your 68 has an after market wheel is because the original 68 Chevelle wheels usually have cracks. Finding an original wheel with no cracks is close to impossible. You will have to buy one restored already, or get a cracked one and restore it yourself, or have it restored. Expect to shell out between $400 and $700 for the finished product.

The horn sections are a dime a dozen. I have one if you need it. They are steel so they don't usually crack. The turn signal has nothing to do with the steering wheel. It's a separate switch in the steering column. Here is a picture of my wheel. It's got the SS emblem where yours would say Malibu, but thats just an emblem that bolts on to the horn section.

You can also go with the optional wood wheel. That would be a little cheaper, but the correct walnut wood wheel can be difficult to find as well.
