So, I'm disassembling my '68 El Camino (removing all trim) in aticipation of finally getting the bodywork and paint done. For the first time, I notice that the trim on my two front fenders is not the same. I think this piece is called the eyebrow molding. The fact that they are different makes me suspect one might be trim from a '69 fender. Can anybody confirm this? Which side is which year? Thanks! (SEE PICS BELOW)

Hey I have a 69 el camino and I know the 69 and 68 pretty well. It looks like your driverside molding is the correct one. The passengerside looks like its for a 69 SS.If you want two new ones OPG(Original Parts Group) has them for a 68 at $109.95 a pair.

Thanks for the clarification. Personally, I like the smaller (69 SS) one better. I may get the lower holes filled on the driver's side and just use the 69 SS moldings. Obviously, originality is not my concern. Thanks again...
The shorter one is an SS eyebrow the longer a Malibu. If your running bodyside moldings the longer one flows with them. However Iv'e seen SS eyebrows and body side moldings on the same car. (Often a tip off that its a clone).
If your not concerned about an original look, run the ones that you like the best.....

I want the car to be smooth with minimal moldings. There won't be any bodyside moldings. So, I think the 69 SS molding will look better as it seems more like an endcap to the grille area than a body molding. Thanks again for the help smile.gif
