I am looking into buying a 1970 Chevelle SS (clone), the information below is about the car. Is there anything that would sound fishy about this car? The body is in excellent shape. No rust any where! Is there any thing I need to be looking for that to be a lemon?
What should the oil pressure be around?
How do i know how the transmission should shift?

Thanks to anyone who can help!!

Oil pressure should be at least 20psi Idle Hot, 40-50psi running down the road....... transmission should shift without lag, car should stop without noise or pulling to one side. Sounds like he/she put a lot of money into the car. You don't say what state, might check for emissions requirements........

Are you sure it does not have any rust? The bottom corners of the rear window are famous for collecting water and will rust easily. Did you get under and look at the trunk and floor pans. They will rust also. WHERE DID THIS CAR COME FROM??? That will tell you alot. This can all be worked out you just need to know how much work you are going to have to do down the road. GOOD LUCK
