Was wondering if anyone ever had to replace the actual drip rails that are part of the body of the car, not the moldings. If so, any tech advice and where can I get the actual drip rails???

I don't know anyone who makes these and it looks like you may have to find a donor car.
Are yours rusted?

Yes, a little bit. As I was grinding, a piece about 3 inches long broke off.

You can actually take them of the car if you are very carefull. Go to your local paint store and ask them for a paint can opener. It will have kind of a squared off end, not a point. Remove the trim, the 3 srew's, then very gently pry up on the drip edge. The ones I took off were glued down. It will help if you have someone helping pull up while you are prying with the tool and using a utility knife to help cut the glue. Just go slow or you will dent them. I practiced on a junk one . Good luck, Cal

Freddy what year you got I have a set from a 70-2 chevelle. Those rails are welded inbetween the roof and the inner structure so replacing them is gonna be a chore.
Easy way to do it would be cut off the majority of the rail leaving behind just a small lip, then lap weld or butt weld the new rail to that lip. That way you dont run into having to split roof skin from the inner
You might want to call sundell out of PA they have tons of chevelles for parts. Number is 724-794-6827...Eric
