I can not get my preportionating valve to reset and the light go off. It says to let the preasure side bleed and let the other side build preasure and it will reset the valve. It does not. I can not bleed the front brakes and the rear I can. I have the after market CPP brake booster dual master and proportionating valve. Front disc rear drum. Any help or ideas......

Had the same problem as you when I put discs on front of 67. I tried all the methods of opening and closing bleeders, stomping on the brakes, etc. with no results. What I had to do was take the rear brake line connection off of the proportioning unit and stick a small screwdriver into that hole and push on the valve until it centered. Someone watching the idiot light helps tell you when it centers. I also felt a small click when it centered. I then gravity bleed the back brakes. When both back brake bleeders started weeping fluid, I opened slightly the bleeder on one front brake and proceeded to bleed the back brakes one at a time but having someone push gently on the brake pedal. When the back was done, then did front ones. Be sure to bleed brakes in order of farthest to closest order from master cylinder starting with farthest. This worked for me.

Open the rear bleeder screw and push the brake petal to the floor. You will hear a click and the preportioning valve will be centered. When you pump the brake, push the petal about 2/3 of the way to the floor and the preportioning valve will stay centered.

I had the same problem on my recent disc conversion. I called CPP and they told me to pull the rear line like Nelson stated. They told me not to touch the button on the front of the prop. valve. It snapped back in place and I was able to bleed the rear brakes as normal.

I ended up pulling the front button, because mine would not let me bleed the front brakes. I pushed it back in and it seems to work now....Thanks for all the help.
