Is there a quick and dirty way to check tie rod ends? I have noticed that my front tires seem to be slightly slanted (angling in from bottom to top). Thought maybe the tie rods or something in the front end might be causing this. Just read a post in the performance section about a guy who broke down on the way to the track due to a rear braking problem. The comment was made that it was better to have happened rolling to a stop at stop sing than at the end of 100 mph quarter mile pass. This really got me to thinking about my 36 year old suspension and drum brakes. Any ideas?

tie rod ends don't cause a tire to lean in. worn control arm bushings and worn ball joints do. I would suggest taking it to a good front end shop and have them check it. Not Sears or Midas.

Exactly.
Do you have any wear on the inside tread? Thats a sign of too much camber. If you can see it sometimes thats not a big deal. But if you have worn tires on the inside tread, that can be a sign of too much camber. Camber can also cause a pull one direction or the other.
If everything is original underneath. Then its time to replace all the bushings and ball joints and move up to disc brakes up front.
