I have a question and would appreciate all feedback. I have a 70 chevelle and I am doing a frame off from the firewall forward. My question is in the frame on the bottom part of the right horn where the batteries used to leak is the only rust dameage to the frame. We cut off the whole horn to allow us better access to the bottom part of the frame so we can repair it and then weld off the piece of the horn back on...was that a bad idea or will the weld that we put the right horn back with make it stronger than it was before and will the weld rust. If it will rust is there any way to keep if from rusting.
Part 2: I am in the Navy so I have to get this car done in the next 2 months before I ship out. I waited 6 weeks for truck freight fenders for my 70 chevelle and when they got there from Paddock they were damaged. I called Paddock and they pretty much did not care(which was evident from the shoddy packing that they did) and the truck freight people aren't willing to help me out much either. The problem is time so I did not refuse the fenders because my body guy said he could take care of it. Is this typical of sheetmetal when receiving it from companies or did Paddock screw me. I would appreciate any commments you all have and advice so I can avoid any future mistakes.
