I'm getting ready to send the chrome visor mounts/upper latch points from my '67 out to be re-chromed and can't figure out how to get the stainless "cap or plug" out that covers the swival point for the visor. I think it should be out and all disassembled prior to chrome, right? Anyone ever gotten these out? If I trash them getting them apart can the plugs be bought alone? I wasn't real happy with the aftermarket replacement visor mount/top latch assemblies.

67_LS1, I have the same problem. If you find out the answer, let me know. I couldn't figure out how to pop out the cap without the risk of damaging it. I have kept an eye out for the aftermarket replacements with no luck yet. Where did you see them? I don't believe you can get aftermarket plugs. Where are you sending them to get re-chromed?

I'm having mine plated at a local shop here in the SF bay area. They do a lot of stuff for the custom Harley crowd.
The replacement ones I saw were at the Goodguys show last year but I don't remember he vendors name. They are there every time. If I remember, I'll get their name when they come through here next month.
