Ok, this isn't as bad as it sounds. I love their stuff, and will continue to use their tire shine and glass polish. And, although their "wax" is great stuff, the cleaning I would need to do all the time isn't worth it to me.

I had been noticing for a while that the car hasn't been as "crisp" looking as it used to. Couldn't figure it out. So, I went back to my trusty Meguire's car cleaner/wax, just recently before the super chevy show a couple weeks ago.

Well, that did the trick. Apparently I would have had to keep polishing the car, then using Zaino to get the same cleanliness and shine out of the paint. I drive the car and no doubt it gets dirty - but short of clay barring and polishing (something I didn't want to do all the time) the Meguires is the ticket for me.

Anyone else have this issue with using just a non-cleaning wax or Zaino? I simply would rather drive the car than polish the car any day. The car cleaner/wax is a good compromise for me, and the car has that "look" again.

I use 3M's Imperial handglaze all the time and some Mothers pure carnuba once in awhile

Never had that problem with Zaino. In fact I have two daily drivers with Zaino products. One hasn't been redone in 3 years and the other in two. Both look like new and still bead when washed. I have to admit though they both need to be clayed and redone but both have out performed any wax I have ever used and I have been at it for more than 40 years. Great products as far as I'm concerened.

I like Zaino,it just took me a while to figure out the thinner you put it on the better it works.I can do my whole Chevelle on 1/2 oz.

xtreme...I have to agree. The Zaino procedure looks a bit too time consuming...like you, I'd rather be driving. I took others suggestion on the Maguier's NXT product and am very pleased with the results...easy on, easy off... my 66' has never seen rain, and is always in the garage, which makes maintenance much easier..

Don't get me wrong - it is a GREAT product! But I believe the tiny paint contaminents on a mirror-finish paint job add up unless you remove them. Zaino alone doesn't remove them, which is why I'm switching. With the Meguire's car cleaner/wax I can kill 2 birds with one stone.

My eyes probably can't tell the difference between perfect paint with Zaino and perfect paint with wax anyway...

NXT is good stuff. My only complaint is that it doesnt seem to last very long.

Its a good product otherwise, IMO. Ease of use and shine are good.

I only use the Z5 and touch up at car shows with the spray gloss enhancer, all that other stuff they try to sell you is overkill. My elky is garage kept but once a year with the Z5 and that's it. It's all I've used since I painted it 5 or 6 years ago.

I think Zaino is intended for new or like new paint, it's not a cure for paint that needs deep cleaning/clay baring.

My car only gets washed when it rains, so my opinion doesn't really matter...

And I thought it was just me! I really liked the NXT but didn't last long at all!

I went back to using Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax, and use Adams detail spray, Good stuff!

I use the Meguires Cleaner/Wax if the finish has that spotted look when wiped down after a wash. If it wipes down clean, I have been using the Meguires HyTech wax. I still have some Dupont #7 here that I use if the paint has spots that just won't come up, try this before the white compound comes out. I do need to come up with a new "cleaner" though for when the finish just needs to be stripped all the way down.

So have you written to Sal Zaino about your complaint? He's answered all my emails.

Well, no - it's not really a complaint at all - it's a choice.

I have also used 3M imperial hand glaze. Good stuff. Also used Meguires Gold Class with excellent results also. I have been noticing a lot more people using Wizards lately too.

I use Pig Snot (http://www.pigsnot.com) on the cars, truck and bike. Easy on and off and makes very little of the white dust. For touch ups and show prep the spray detailer goes on over the wax. Once a year seems to do just fine even on the daily drivers. I buy the 6 pack and get free S&H and 2 free Tshirts.
