Has anyone used Autosol to polish plastic parking lenes? And when repainting the chrome parking len bezels and headlight bezels black. should i use a primer first? GM just used paint. OK one more thing is there a transllucent amber paint for the side marker inserts?

Polishing plastic was just discussed here - http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141549
I dont know of any amber translucent paint to cover the side markers. Have they lost the color of just the sheen? If just the shine and such, re-clear them then wetsand and polish and you should be good. If you have completely lost color for some reason (not sure how that would heppen) just buy a new set from GU or another supplier.
I am not certain on the bezels but I would at the very least use an adhesion promoter on plastic or scuff them up real good so the paint can bite.

The bezels are chromed metal. And the parking lenes have faded.

Not sure about chrome painting but I am sure someone will chime in.
Do you have any pics of the lenses? There are translucent paints out there but I have not personally seen anything for this specific application. I had a pair of tail lights that looked shot and I scuffed them, re-cleared and polished and they came out nice. Maybe stop by a local body shop and see what they have or can mix? Often they can put stuff into spray cans for you.
Course - gas, mixed paint, gas back to house probably = the cost of purchasing replacements.

I know this sounds nuts, but I used Turtle wax on some plastic, watched how hard I rubbed and got pretty good results. You might need an old tooth brush to remove residual wax from grooves and corners but they should look good when done. You could also try glass wax. Used both on the clear speedometer/dash lens on a 71 Malibu.
