: Question on 1968 / 1969 Header Panel Trim

I seem to be confused on what is correct for a 68 SS header panel. There are two questions:

Number 1:
My understanding is that the 68's say Chevelle, but NOT "by Chevrolet". Is this correct?

Number 2:
I have seen some cars with a very small trim piece between the headlight bezels which lines up with the trim strip at the bottom of the header above the grill. The most recent OPG catalog lists this trim for 1969 models. The most recent NPD catalog shows a 68 on the front cover without this trim. Is this trim only for 1969s or could it be on some 1968's as well?

Thanks

Answer to question 1: 68's did not have the "By Cheverolet".

Answer to question 2: That is a 69 only piece of trim. The trim hasn't been on either of the 68's I have torn down.
