I like to say first, that National Parts Depot located in NC. Did a great job. I ordered floor pans " full size " with them on Mon. afternoon and received Thursday at my place of work in Princeton NJ. The quote I recieved on the shipping was on the money. Anyway, How much of the existing floor pan do I cut off? I'd say 70% is good. I guess I'd would be lap welding, is that correct? Do I need to drop the the tank?

ABC;

Just cut out what was rusted. Or better worded, cut out everything until you get to solid metal.

There is an article in the "technical reference" section of this site that covers floor pans.

Watch out for the braces, unless you're planning on replacing them, too.
