: Update on my Niece
Gutz66 Aug 23rd, 06, 1:55 PM http://www.pjsamericaniron.com/McK1.jpg
Just wanted to say thanks for all of the prayers and positive thoughts sent from everyone. As it stands now she will need a bone marrow transplant sometime in the near future. Her first series of chemo went ok. She did get pretty sick for a couple of days but the staff at UW Madison Childrens have been great for her and her parents.
She is still facing about 6-8 months in the hospital and more chemo. The tumors are shrinking so that is a step in the right direction.
Tomorrow we are have a fund-raiser (garage sale) in our town for living expenses they are incurring. They just finished building their home and have not sold their first home. So with two house payments and with my sister having to stop teaching this year they will need the help. So far the community has been great in donating for the sale. Glad for that.
Well I will keep those of you interested posted on her progress.
Gutz

Ditto.
We need to get something going here on the site. We've done this in the past via paypal and such and I dont know of any better cause than this one. None.
Cars are nothing compared to this and we go out of our way to help people tune and build all the time.
Maybe even something as small as selling parts on ebay as a group and sending in what we get to the family? If we documented on eBay the cause I think we would get excellent bids above and beyond the norm.
I have a few things I am willing to part with for this that I otherwise would not sell.
New hotchkis upper arms, two fairly new edelbrock 750's with spring and tuning kits, POR'd b-body spindles, new MC, prop valve, 1LE disc brakes.....you get the idea.
Alwhite00 Aug 23rd, 06, 6:00 PM She is in my prayers.

EMT8C Aug 23rd, 06, 7:32 PM god bless you and your niece
Gutz66 Aug 24th, 06, 10:45 AM Wow, that would be very generous of everyone. I will get something going tonight and then I will give out the info as to where you can send the donations. My sister and her family would be very suprised and greatfull.
I do have a paypal account that we could use. Just need to look up the info due to my not using it in sometime. Also I have to step away from the computer due to helping with the garage sale today. As for the offer of donating bone marrow, that has to be done by her sister first (best chance of it working) and then her parents. The rest of us offered but the doctors said we can't. Very nice of all of you who inquired about donating. That says alot about our group of chevelle nuts. Thanks again all.
ps. Kurt, I will most likely not be at Jefferson this fall. My buddies will but I have something else keeping me from attending.
70_Malibu Aug 24th, 06, 10:57 AM She's in our prayers. The doctors at the UW Hospital are some of the finest in the nation.
God speed!
kmchugh Aug 24th, 06, 12:34 PM Gutz,
May the Lord smile upon your niece and your family. Good luck. What a sweet pea.

Donation update. If your interested in donating to my niece and her parents for ongoing expenses I am setting up a Paypal account in her name. I have a call in to my sister and am waiting to hear back from her. I will notify her of your intentions and ask her permission if we set up an account in McKennas name. Again, they are facing a long road ahead of them and are far from being out of the woods as of yet. They are strong but only because so many people are pulling for them. I should have something up by today if all goes well. Please pm me or call me at 715-897-1597 cell, if you have any questions. Also big thanks to Jason for helping me out so much.

Cool, keep us posted. I will donate what I can.
ed3196499 Aug 25th, 06, 1:08 PM I am certainly in on the donation. I will ask my wife to spread the word thru some of the forums she is a member of as well. (with your permission)
Gutz66 Aug 25th, 06, 1:17 PM Ed, that would be great and please tell your wife she is more than welcome to spread the word. Thanks Very Much....

no1dc Aug 25th, 06, 2:54 PM Any place to donate yet? I prefer to avoid paypal so the family gets the full amount without any "service fees" deducted. Pete

Having met Patrick in the past, I know it would be more than safe to send the $ directly to him and he'd make sure it gets to the right people.

Kurt, it is grand of you to step up and attest to Patrick's character. I too also personally know Patrick, he and his wife are both Nurses to a different degree, and I would trust either of them to care for me in the OR. Pat gave me the shirt off his back the first time I met him, and it is very difficult to find that character in anybody these days. Please TC if you're reading this donate what you can to help Patrick's niece and her parents through this very, very difficult obstacle in her very young life. Jason Nosko. RN, BSN CNOR

Thanks Kurt and Jason, your kind comments are appriecitated. I spoke to Jeff and Amanda today and this is what they emailed me after the conversation.
Two accounts for paypal...
jfrenkel@new.rr.com this one he can accept any bank transfers and paypal transfers without incurring any charges
jjfro9@hotmail.com this one he can accept any form of payment, including credit cards, but Jeff is charged a small fee for each transaction
thanks so much for everything, Patrick. we've read today's chevy posts, and we were both choked up a little . it means so much to have our family supporting us, and warms our hearts even more to see how this little girl's obstacles are reaching so many different people, and they too are praying for us. I'll email you some adorable pictures this weekend.
love all of us xoxo

Gutz66 Aug 28th, 06, 11:59 PM I have a couple of pics of my little niece who most of you know is fighting AML Lukemia. I talked to my sister today and she told me that McKenna is hanging in there. Up and down like a roller coaster is how the days go. Keep the prayers and positive thoughts for them. By the way she did have most of her hair fall out so Mom gave her a shave and now lots of peach fuzz as she describes it.
