I was on my way to work this morning, and blew an air bag in the right rear. The inner lip is sitting right on the tire. I have always had a clearance issue, but I could drive the car without the air bags. It would rub when the body bounced, but now there is no clearance at all. Why would the ride height drop severely like that? I have Hotchkiss 1" lowered springs, adjustable upper and boxed lower control arms, and KYB gas adjust shocks. Any help?

with only one air bag blown the car isn't square any more .... Deflat the other one & you should be able to drive it.....

I agree. Same thing as when you put a jack under the car and lift one side: The other side will come down a little bit. Deflating the other airbag should help.

I did deflate the other air bag, and the car sits a lot lower than it did. Would it help to get a jack under it, and mybe relieve any preload?

PS, I saw a thread where the body mounts were sagging through a rusted fram, I'll have to take a look.

I'm trying to understand the use of air bags with lowering springs. Why not just use regular springs?
