Recently someone started a thread about the recent and large parts price increases at one of the chain parts stores. Well, today I was looking on eBay at some Delco ignition points for a fair price and decided to compare online at Checker and Autozone. The points at Checker were in the high $20 range and those at the zone were about $10-$12 for what seems like the same thing. What a difference, and what is going on with them? I bought some genuine Delco stuff on eBay for less. Maybe the moral of the story is that we should be scooping all the obsolete parts like this before it gets crazier.

I wish I could afford to buy all the available GM parts for the vehicles I own. Something breaks, just go into my own parts house and pick it off the shelf. I did buy a few smaller $$ items the last time I ordered GM parts from the dealer I get deep discounts at. Interior door handles and the hi/low dimmer switch on the floorboard of the Chevelle I believe the parts were. I'm my experience, nothing fits better than a GM part. The repop stuff is nearly always a bear to fit.

Anyone who's a fool to pay $100 for a set of obsolete points must have more $$ than he/she knows what to do with it.

And why are repops such a bear to fit anyways?
