Okay folks,need some advise.

Been working on a 71 Chevelle, knew the frame was cracked up by the passenger front wheel. Brought it down to a repair shop. They stated the Frame was cracked and bent and the rear shock mounting bracket was shot.
They told me this could all be fixed for about $1200. Additionaly the body has need of much work, there is rust on it in various places.
I have already sunk about $6K in this project. Engine runs strong.
So the advice needed:
1. Is the car worth fixing the frame ?
2. Can the body be cured of the Rust ?

Right now I have it on the market for $3500, but the feeling is will be difficult to unload......

Thanks
Guy

This might be a good time to consider buying a mig welder and learning to: 1.Weld the frame, 2. Weld in some new body panels. These are skills that you can learn if you want to. And it will cost you less and leave you with a good welder when you have fixed the car.

Look in the parts for sale areas.. I bought a frame some time ago for 200 bucks or so... Straight as an arrow!! Or repair yourself! Either way.. good luck http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
