hey guys, i've got a 1969 cutlass that i put a big block chevy into and im trying to figure out just how im gonna be able to put my headers in. they are hooker comp series 2 inch tubes with 3 1/2 inch collectors. they just do not want to fit, does anybody have these on their car? if you do how did you get them to fit?

In my Chevelle the passenger side dropped right in from the top. But the drivers side required that I raise the nose of the car up extremely high and loosen the motor mount on that side to put it in from the bottom. Kind of scary but went in ok.

Like 2k3 said, you may have to lift the motor a little bit. I also had to take off the steering box and the upper A-arm bolt had to be loosened. I had to remove the rag joint adn move the steering shaft "up" and around to get the header to fit. It sounds like a lot of work, but really wasn't that bad.

so far i got the passenger side in, had to take out the starter but it went in smooth after that. as for the driver side i had to take my steering pump off, which was for the best because i just discovered 2 of the bolts were completely stripped. looks like i might have to lift the motor up alittle bit to get it in. i'll give it a shot sometime this week
thanks for the help guys i appreciate it
