I think I just blew the high pressure hose in my 99 suburban. I have never replaced one of these. Any special tools required, or tips you can share? Should I replace the return hose as well as long as I'm doing the job?
TIA, Kevin

I think on that car (been awhile since I've been under one) you'll really just need a couple of metric wrenches - and a new hose. Any particular reason it blew? If the hoses are dried out, then go for the return, but there's considerably less wear and tear on the return, so it's probably ok. If you think you may have contaminated the system, it might be good to get both hoses, but again, it's probably ok.
Be prepared to make a mess - PS fluid will be just about everywhere (if it's not already) no matter how hard you try to keep it clean.

I hope that you didn't have to drive too far after the hose blew. The pump does not like it being run without any power steering oil for lubrication.
BTW, the nut on the pump end of the pressure hose has a 16mm hex. The nut on the gear end of the pressure hose has a 18mm hex.
The power steering fluid that is specifically formulated to operate with the Saginaw power steering pump is genuine GM power steering fluid. It is available at GM dealers. All of the other "stuff" is not tested to the extent that the GM fluid is tested.

Thanks guys. It blew in my driveway as my wife returned from a camping trip. What luck! It could have happened on the road a long way from home.
