Has anyone used/tried a Chicago Electric easy Mig 101/1 model wire feed welder? I saw them cheap on Ebay and wondered if they were servicable or not. I intend to do some patch panels, trunk floor, exhaust, box control arms etc. thanks

I doubt if anything Chicago "China" Electric sells is serviceable. But, I bought their stick welder dirt cheap from Harbor Freight and it works just fine on the 220 volt side. When it dies, I'll just throw it away. Already got my $50 worth.

The welding supply shops around here call them throwaways, which is not meant to imply that they are inferior machines. They simply are not repairable for the most part once something burns up inside. On some of these machines, you can't even replace the cable.

Thats what I figured. Looks like Ill be able to get it for under $80. If I can learn to weld with it and maybe get some work done on my car it will have paid for itself. thanks guys
