I searched the threads back to 2003 on bushings. Wow, some serious discussions.......

Putting in a 67 12 bolt 373 Posi, replacing the original 308 open - 67 Malibu

I am going to use the rubber bushings for the upper and lowers. Any advice on who to buy them from so they are the best quality and fit the best?

Total of 8 bushings, right? I have the box kit already to box the LCA's.

Thanks.

8 bushings, and they're all the same.

They may be a bit more expensive through your local parts-store, but you know that you're getting good quality when you order MOOG or Dana chassis parts

I got my Moog rubber bushings through OPGI.com.

If I were to do it again I would do as Derek recommened and just pay a few extra bucks and go through your parts store and have them order them.

I have 2 sets of 4 aluminum anodized bushings from Competition Engineering, and they claim it is for the lower control arms only. But to me, it looks like all 8 are the same. Any comments?

I assume they are a solid bushing? (no rubber or poly)

If so, they are correct in telling you not to use them on the uppers... they would fit, but they would bind horribly as the upper arms require the bushings to rotate, bend, turn, and twist all at the same time. The lowers do too, but to a lesser extent, so solid bushings work, sort of. Those are a drag-race only product, and I would not use them on the street.

Derek,

I've been following that other thread about the hothkis control arms. A friend told me to buy those to make sure I didn't have wheel hop. The guy who is doing my rear end says I should go poly on the lowers and rubber on the uppers.

Geez, what a difference of opinions on this subject !!!!

But am I right in just boxing the LCA's I have, put in good brand of rubber bushings and see what I get when I am done? This is a driver that I want to burn up the rears once in a while and maybe go to the track a couple of times.

Something tells me to just do the rubber bushings and avoid all this stuff.
