I,ve spent 2 hours trying to figure out how the last guy rigged this console 67 Chevelle (auto). It seems to be binding on the shifter cable. .There is a bracket about 6 inches from the front of the console that is just bolted to the shifter plate.Not doing anything.But I think my car was a 4 speed,because they rivited sheetmetal over the hole and tried to mount this bracket. The front and rear brackets are solid to the car.

any info would be great.
