As I own a 67 GTO and a 67 malibu convertable with a 396 + .30 ( 67 Rag Rat ) I know this one.

Gas Tires and Oil (Just Kidding ) or

Grand Tourismo Ohmygoditgoes ( But not as fast as my 67 Convertable )

It stands for Grand Tourismo Omologato.

GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, it stands for production touring machine homologated, or sanctioned to race. Ferrari didn't think Pontiac knew what it meant until Pontiac proved Ferrari wrong!
