I heard this banging noise from my trans. It has an aftermarket chrome cover on the torque converter. I hit the bottom of it, and it sounds like its hitting the torque converter or is loose.

Any one experience this noise.....Thanks

I once had a rattling noise coming from the trans, and it turned out to be loose converter-to-flexplate bolts... Tightened them up and the noise was gone...

I do have that rattling noise when I wind out slowly to a higher RPM, thought is was a rattling lifter or somethhing worst deep inside the engine. Its the tranny cover. Doesn't fit correctly, so only 2 bottom bolts holding it. Its tight against the tranny but certain rpm's make it rattle. Not sure if its original or not.

Tony, that rattling flex plate noise you had, Could you hear from the front of the car, like it was right there in front of you.

No more rattle, Aftermarket chrome cover .One hole doesn,t line up so there is no bolt in it. Thanks
