I am in the process of stripping out the sealer between the roof and the roof drip edge. What do I replace it with that will allow the paint to adhere properly?

Windshield urthane is the way to go. Don't crack peel or fall off. It sticks to glass great. You should see it stick to dried epoxy. Its all in the prep work clean clean clean. spray epoxy down let it dry a couple hours. Use masking tape to tape off gutter, add bead of thane smooth with finger pull off tape and your done. Let it dry 4 or 5 hours then epoxy over the thane. I use it in place of all seam sealers wish they made it in single serving tubes.

Seam sealer dries up and cracks over time. I only use it in hidden areas. Don't get me wrong it has it's place. Dries up, sags in, and cracks.
