I'm restoring a 69 Camino. The car came with buckets. I want to install modern bucket seats. What I really want is a seat with intergrated seat belts that would lock when you hit the brakes as well as the shoulder harness that attatched to the seat not the sail panel. Having power adjust and lumbar support would be very cool too. I aquired a pair of black leather buckets out of a 2006 CTX Caddy with 6 miles on them and they are absoultly perfect. And thats exactly what I would say if they were about 8 inches shorter. The seats fit but your butt is way too high off the floor. Can anyone sugjest a higher end donor car with these features. I realize that the seats would have to be mounted extreamly well for obvious reasons
Thanks

Don't give up on everyone just yet. That's not the easiest question to answer. There are several guys on here that have installed aftermarket or other type seats. Try the search feature. Here's one I found.

Also....this is posted in the "Restoration Corner Where originality comes first." area. Most members that post and review here are not into "aftermarket" or "custom". ;)

LOL Thanks 69 Elky. After I posted message I saw the "Where Originality comes first" It is also why I did not state the car really is a SS, but that wouldnt be to hard to find out. Now that the cat is out of the bag I will probably get death threats. If I told you everything I have done to it I would be assinated.
thanks for the tip.

Nahh, they would have killed me first,if that was the case. :D
Welcome aboard.

I've seen many different seats adapted to these cars. As you have discovered, finding a pair with the right height can be challenging. One of these days,I'm going to install my Arizen Sport seats and Morris Classic three-point belts in my 69.

Some seats that work well in these cars are C4 Corvette and 4th Gen F-body units. Maybe some others will chime in,later.

Sebring convertible seats have a built in shoulder harness. These have been used by some Corvair enthusiasts so they must be low enough.

Here is an article on how to install them and what they look like.
