: Wow leather "carpet"
bdubya Aug 15th, 06, 10:22 PM Not quite my taste, but some serious work.

thunderstruck507 Aug 15th, 06, 10:33 PM wow, pretty clean car
what is wrong with the grille though? isnt it supposed to wrap the headlights? fix that and its great
bubba68ss Aug 15th, 06, 10:38 PM a car that you would never drive?? where's the fun in that?!
EkS Aug 15th, 06, 10:44 PM That grill doesn't look right because he's using the 71 headlight bezels instead of the 72 ones. There's some bodywork, but it's not that impressive...it just looks different.
Derek69SS Aug 15th, 06, 10:47 PM All that money stuck in that car, and it has those ridiculous "fake disc brake" things behind the wheels.
Andy69 Aug 15th, 06, 10:47 PM wow nice work there. sort of goofy in some respects (like all custom except the console and steering column).
did you see some of the cars around it? dang
DUKEdevils36 Aug 16th, 06, 12:15 AM That grill doesn't look right because he's using the 71 headlight bezels instead of the 72 ones. There's some bodywork, but it's not that impressive...it just looks different.
exactly what i was thinking. In my eyes it doesnt have that aggressive Chevelle look
Burbank SS Aug 16th, 06, 1:06 AM I guess I remember when people painted the bumpers because they couldn't afford new chromework. I think the dash looks sparse and kinda plastic. I think it show a lack of imagination.
I don't think the "lowrider" look is that popular right now, maybe the hip-hop look is, but that's not the same.
Obviously a lot of work, but it looks like a toy to me.
Ultra Leather - when I google it, it looks to be fake leather:

Sorry, they can keep it.
_Bear_ Aug 16th, 06, 1:11 AM Not something I would want
Cheers

Gokou Aug 16th, 06, 1:32 AM I remember that car in Super Chevy. Here was my thought process:
Let's see... lots of money spent and:
Brake coverplates concealing what could very well be drums: check.
Mediocre and uninspiring drivetrain: check.
A "pyle" of a DVD player: check.
Makes me wonder what other corners were cut if they chose to save money in some very obvious places.
Definately more show than go and I have doubts about some of the show.
Somebody, buy it and save it!
Lost el camino Aug 16th, 06, 9:42 AM Ah, the smell of leather.
SS427Rick Aug 16th, 06, 10:40 AM Whoever built it went kind of cheap on the drivetrain. I guess as long as he can move it on and off the trailer, it's good enough. Must have blown the budget on the leather floor. Somebody might like it, but not me.
1BLACKHARLEY Aug 16th, 06, 12:15 PM i didn't know stevie wonder had an upholstery shop....it's one of those cars where $ were spent in some areas, and not so much on others. door panels are terrable, spilt fuel on the intake, what's up with the headers? column shift? look, there is way more talent in that car, than i'll ever have, but i wouldn't own it, and if i got a great deal on it, i'd flip it. to me it's an unusable circus wagon. there is a lot of great stuff on the car, but the "whole" doesn't resonate to me. black interior, real guages, floor shift, then you'd have something. still nicer than anything i own....
ProdigyCustoms Aug 16th, 06, 12:24 PM I see some nice stuff in the background including Ian Zerrings Overhaulin car that sold at BJ last year. As for the leather floor, UGH! Actually, besides the fake disc brakes, I see lots of other features I am not a fan of.
Bowtie-72 Aug 16th, 06, 1:37 PM Why the cheapo crate engine? Looks like a vortec setup, with no detailig. I smell a car that someone slapped on a thck coat of paint and is trying to off it.
OK guys, hee's the plan:
1-buy a decent car with a blown engine
2-shave emblems and handles
3-shoot it thick and heavy. Block sand it well
4-get a cheapo crate engine
5-call the interior shop-they owe us money anyway-let's use it all up here.
6-"find" some wheels
7-who needs a real tranny or 12 bolt? good enough. Call the dutchbboy for paint
8-park it in front of some nicer cars
9-don't worry about the underpinnings, people will be blinded by the paint
10-use very monatanous text with no paragraphs so people won't try to read it closely
11-hope to make big dough without resorting to a fake trim tag or the likes
I'll give credit to the body and interior (except "carpet-looks crappy to me). It may look nice, buy lets see underneath...
69boo307 Aug 16th, 06, 1:42 PM Looks like someone polished a turd
Tex66 Aug 16th, 06, 2:03 PM Oh wow, a lowrider straight from the streets of OKC  What a joke! Leave it to an okie to screw up a decent chevelle. hehe Fuax Leather carpet? You have to take your shoes off just to get into the stupid thing.
thunderstruck507 Aug 16th, 06, 3:02 PM Oh wow, a lowrider straight from the streets of OKC  What a joke! Leave it to an okie to screw up a decent chevelle. hehe Fuax Leather carpet? You have to take your shoes off just to get into the stupid thing.
alright now texas boy, better watch it :D
nice to see someone from close to home, which chevelle is yours? I spend a LOT of time in Paris (dragstrip, decent beer, and those cute junior college girls) I might have seen it
TechNova Aug 16th, 06, 3:36 PM Makes me wonder what other corners were cut if they chose to save money in some very obvious places.
That's what I thought when I saw the original bubbling sticker inside the glove box door.
TXLNGHRN Aug 16th, 06, 3:45 PM Notice the gas and brake pedals? They could have at least took some krylon gloss balck to them.
In one of those pics of the engine bay it looks liek the A Arms haven't been painted.
chevguy65 Aug 16th, 06, 3:51 PM Wow what a beautifully ugly car......needs chrome!
Now as far as driving, why build it if you don't drive it?
Trailer queens are a waste of money as far as I am concerned.
Tex66 Aug 16th, 06, 4:07 PM alright now texas boy, better watch it :D

Hey! Well it's been awhile since it's been out...but's it the burgandy 66 chevelle I used to cruise around in and use as my daily driver...got a pic in my profile. How's the races these days?
Alwhite00 Aug 16th, 06, 6:39 PM Man, It doesn't look like they even touched the frame. Looks like it's all original underneath.

havent been in a while since i live in Fayetteville, AR for school, but I usually end up in Paris visiting friends and such while home
last time I was there a guy had a black first gen camaro with a huge turboed merlin BBC, it was pretty nasty
Chris R Aug 17th, 06, 3:00 AM That 1950s Buick in the backround looks pretty sweet though. I dont mind the Chevelle but I would make several changes if it were mine. If the reserve is anything over 25K, its overpriced. I can add a crate motor and paint every part on the outside of a car like that if I want to also.
Phil Keller Aug 17th, 06, 4:31 AM more bling, please.
Junkyard Dawg Aug 17th, 06, 1:12 PM Seems like most of these show cars have thousands dumped in the body paint and interior but when it comes to motivation they go cheap with a crate engine.
That engine is a real eyesore....looks like oil all over the intake....I was expecting to see the engine compartment just as clean as the exterior and interior.
Leather carpet = You gotta take off your shoes just to get in.
Don't care too much for the dash and the door panels either.
aukai Aug 17th, 06, 4:59 PM Looks like something a rap star might own not me.
Beaux Aug 17th, 06, 5:05 PM It looks like something the "crew" over at pimp my ride would do.
RobsIron Aug 17th, 06, 5:07 PM They want 45k for it.
Andy69 Aug 17th, 06, 5:08 PM Looks like someone polished a turd
I didn't think you could do that...
Beaux Aug 17th, 06, 5:27 PM I didn't think you could do that...
It slings pretty bad, gotta use VERY low RPM settings on the porter cable.
