I took apart my alternator last night and want to restore some luster to it. Can you powder coat the housing if I decided to make it a body color?

I have not done it, but I have a price list from the guy that did my frame. He has a price of $35 for Alternators.

Thanks NHRA1877,

That is what I want to do, take a bunch of stuff to be done. It looks like some of the same things I am taking. What kind of ONE PRICE did he give you.

I am taking: </font> 2 center links, 4 tie rod ends, 2 hood hinges, alternator brackets, alternator housing, air brackets, inner fenders, trunk deck brackets and maybe a few other things.</font>
Is this something like the bunch you took?

i got some small stuff done, Hood hinges, alternator, alternator bracket, bottom hood latch, top hood latch, fender supports, coil bracket,2 pulleys and i think thats all....He charged me 200 to blast and powdercoat everything. A reasonable price i guess. I have heard subframes being stripped and coated for 500, but i think the high prive for mine was they were all complex parts the needed alot of attention like the springs and levers and all...I absolutly love powdercoating and if i could i would powdercoat my car lol.....Its great i wish i had taken the time and powdercoated my suspention and subframe pieces instead of using POR-15..........Good luck and try to post some pics when you get the stuff back
