Im looking for tips on how to start the tuning process properly. Im thinking
1.Get the car somewhat close on jetting and start with 28 degrees total timing {obviously low} and go up 2 degrees at a time until i reach top MPH.
2. Rejet 2 sizes at a time front and back for top MPH
3. Select proper plug heat range based on strap color
This fall i want to see 11.50's with good air. Based on my current "untuned" MPH of 115.5 i know i can get it with some driving skills. Once i get my motor tuned properly im going to step up to some caltracs and split monos for next summer and look to make consistant/improve on my 60 foot. The best ive hit is a 1.67 with my crap mangled slapper bars and spinning so i know theres ET left there. My only other ideas are to come off at a higher RPM. Ive been leaving at 3,500 RPM wich is no where near my peak TQ. Im sure i make that at around 5,000 so i think upping my launch to 4,500 RPM would improve things quite a bit. My last idea is to swap my 12 lb hays aluminum flywheel for a 30 lb steel one. So any other ideas or tips for the track. Hopefully im done breaking stuff, frying clutches, burning plug wires and breaking rear ends!!!! 1 good day out there would just float my boat. Any tips will help. Heres a refresher of my combo if it matters...
