Hey guy's, it's been awhile. I sure miss this place. Unfortunatly I sold my Elcamino, so I haven't been around. Hopefully everyone is doing well.

Now to the point. I'm getting ready to transport a 70 Chevelle. I'm not sure these particular 3 car's are going to fit on my trailer. 53 Pontiac low rider, 73 Charger/Challenger, and a 70 Chevelle.

What I need is the over-all length, and from the furthest point forward on the front, to just beyond center of the rear wheel. Just where the meat of the tire is on the ground, then the rest of the car can hang off the back of the trailer.

Thank's for any help. Cal

I wish I could give you more detailed measurements but the front clip is off mine... but I used to have a 16 foot trailer and the tip of the front bumper was at the front edge of the deck, and rear bumper was pretty close but didn't hang over the back of the trailer. I'd leave 16' MIN and not more than 17' for space. If you absoutely don't have that much room, disassemble the front clip and you'll save about 12-18 inches from front frame horn edge to back bumper.

A 1970 Chevelle 2 door is 17.5' long give or take an inch. I would leave 18' for it. I have a 16' open trailer the the nose hangs off the front and the rear hangs off the back.

Thank's for the replies.

I don't think the customer would appreciate me taking the front clip off.

What I really need is that front to rear wheel center measurement. I can back one car on, let it hang off the front. Then let the other hang off the back.

Oh well, maybe someone else will still chime in before I get there. I just hope I can get them all on.

I just went outside and took a loose measurement of my 70. 13' 7" from the tip of the front bumper to the middle of the rear tire. Though I did just lay a tape on the floor. Let me know if I need to go back out..

Thank's Matt. That's just what I needed. I think they'll all fit.
