Hi all,

I need some help.

I have a 1967 Malibu that had a staight 6 - 250 in it. I pulled it out and have a 454 ready to go in but I can not find motor mounts that will work. Are there any out there anywhere that I can buy or do I have to create something?? I have tried Napa, Checker, Summit & Jegs and nobody can give a good answer.

I have no idea why no one makes a motor mount that will drop right into place for a big block. I also don't completely understand why there are so many different variations.

However, in the end, I found a motor mount that was slightly too wide for the stands on the frames so I used those with a few washers between the stand and the ears of the mount and it worked fine. It was a whole lot easier than bending out the ears on the mounts that are too narrow like other guys told me I'd have to do.

I can look up the part number at home if it will help. I got mine from NAPA.

You need to change the frame brackets. 6cyl brackets will not work
with a V8. The reproduction 8cyl brackets are made in SB and BB versions. Seeing you are starting from scratch I would buy the BB frame brackets and ask for engine mounts for a 66-67 396 Chevelle. Here is an example the frame brackets you need shown on E-bay
