You should be able to get one at any glass shop.I just put one in the 67, had to order it from glass shop. It took two days to get.

I just got a brand new PPG windshield installed and had the back glass put in while he was there and the grand total was $79.60 It was done by the guy who installs all our glass at the Ford dealership that I work at, and he had it in stock for my 66 SS.

One thing to keep in mind which is especially important for the windshield is not to buy on price alone. I know someone who bought a cheap 67 windshield(imported) and when you looked out thru it, it was wavy. Stick with PPG or another large name brand company. He ended up replacing it.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the new windshield might be thinner. I bought one from PPG and it's about 40 % thinner.

Different Glass??

I need to get the front and rear glass for my 65 Chevelle and didn't realize that there's different grades, thickness of glass.

What kind of questions should I ask before hiring the install company?
Good name brands?
Thickness?
Tinted differently? etc.....

Thanks,
Jack

I was not offerend any other choice than the tint. I noticed the difference in thickness after delivery.

Jack - LOF and PPG are two name brands that I am familiar with. There may be others. Just call a couple of glass companies, ask questions about what they use and do some comparisons. If you want email a friend of mine(Trent Miller) at:

with any questions you may have about glass.

Or see their web site: www.theautoglassman.com (http://www.theautoglassman.com)
