: Thanks TC! Gauges in Aftermarket Completed
Johndel Aug 10th, 06, 8:24 PM I just wanted to thank TC for his pics and help via PM. I finally finished installing my autometers in my new 69 dash. The pic isn't the best. But I am happy with the results. Thanks again bro.

Cool. Good Luck. It was a rather pain in the a$$ for me because I didn't have the proper tools to cut out the back of the cluster. I drilled a bunch of holes all around the piece I wanted to remove and then bent it out with some pliers. I didn't care what that back looked like because nobody will ever see it. I made my own brackets to hold the gauges in place with.... don't laugh. a flat rubber bungee cut to size and some sheetmetal screws. And for the gas gauge I used some small metal brackets that I had laying around. It's not the best looking in the back.. But you cant see it shhhhhhh.. : )

hi johndel. your dash looks great. what model chevelle do you have? i'm courious about the lack of astro vents. thanks john c...If I'm not mistaken, only 2dr hardtops and convertibles had astro vents, as the rest of the models had wing-windows.

I have a 69. I pulled out the AC and the Heat. No Vents either : ) it's just a look pretty and drive fast car : )
Glad I could be of some help, your dash looks really good.
The gauges always look better set in from the rear, they have more of a factory look, more professional
I see you have the speedo on the right, are you sure the cable will hook up? Or is that an electronic speedo?

Unfortunatley I didn't take that into consideration. I will find out today. My father and I are going to be hooking up the gauges. I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks again.
