Kinda liking the idea of getting rid of all external guages on the 64 elky project i'm working on... Shiftworks sells a bolt-in tach that looks pretty good - and the price is reasonable at $125 - anyone use them before?

On to my original question - OPG sells a kit (pn C210141) that replaces the idiot light cluster with one that is analog and it also replaces the amp guage with a voltage guage... kinda nice too - anyone use it? Goes for $200

Between the cluster and the tach, were at almost half the price of a new Dakota package. It's a lot of money - but it includes a new dash...

Guess I can sell the original cluster, dash and lens to recoup some of the cost...

Anyway, just trying to get some feedback to help me make a decision.

Thanks!

Be aware that the fuel sending unit in 64 is different resistance than 65.

I got the shiftworks tach because I needed it for my MSD distributor since the signal would not work with the stock tach. The shiftworks tach works great and it looks close to the original but with a higher red line.

Burbank,
Yes, I'm aware of that... It appears that the Dakota system is tunable for various fuel sender resistance (and it's tunable so you can input whatever the resistance is I believe!) - pretty neat!
Alast, thanks for the review of the shiftworks tach - good to know

That Shiftworks tach looks like a really great price.

Right now I gotta figure out why my fuel gauge is pegged on high - cleaned up the chassis ground a bit, but it didn't help -- and the ammeter doesn't move.

If I do have to replace gauges, I'd like to keep the original look, but those digital dashes look pretty cool.
