Is it possible to install a converter without removing the trans (TH350)?
I don't look like I have very much tunnel space to just slide the tranny back but I thought I'd ask.

I remember reading something awhile back about checking the converter to make sure it had a little free space. Is it necessary to shim it off the flexplate to get the right distance or are you just making sure it's not jammed into the front of the trans when it's installed?
Sorry for the beginner level questions, but in the past I've just slid the converter on the trans and bolted it to the converter and it worked. Now I find out you are supposed to be checking stuff?:clonk:
