Recently replaced all major components for a/c system -- condenser, drier, evaporator, compressor and all new lines. The compressor was missing when I got the car so I have never used the air before. Problem is I have no power going to the compressor clutch. I`v checked the fuse in the fuse panel and it HAS power there. Is there another relay or fuse in between the fuse panel and the compressor?

Look under the hood and find the low pressure switch, it should be on the accumulator or around it. Unplug the wires and check for power on the wires. One of them should be hot. If it is, the low psi switch is bad or you are low on freon. You can test the compressor by jumping the wires together with a paper clip or something just to see if it will engage. Good Luck!

There are two relays located behind the glove box. They are meant to momentarily apply power to the compressor clutch when the engine is shut off, helps kill the engine. The two relays are found on 71 only. If they are not working the best thing to do is bypass them. One relay, the blocking relay, has one tan, two pinks and two lt blue wires, remove both relays and jumper the tan to the lt blue on the blocking relay connector.
