: Kick Panel Vents

My kick panel vents are stuck open, and are letting in some c-c-c-c-cold air these days. Can I get to them without tearing apart the dash? The cables are not functioning.
TIA!

Fred,
Try soaking the cables with either WD40 or Liquid Wrench. Gradually work them in and out. Otherwise, you'll need to replace the cables.

you may be able to push the vents closed manually, if they arent packed with leaves and junk from the cowl area.

Just to add to drptop's reply - on a '70 you can pop off the vent louvers on the kick panel without tools. This will expose the flapper door so you can close it manually. TK
