How were the original Yenko's distinguishable from just a typical chevelle or camaro? If one was to find an old car back in a barn or something, how would you know if it were a Yenko or not? Did they have special vin #'s or what?

One big difference about a Yenko Chevelle vs a Super Sport are the numbers 4 2 7 instead of 3 9 6

In 1969 the Yenko Chevelles and Camaros were COPOs with the graphics added. They would have the specially coded 427 engines and the specially coded 4.10 rearends. Nothing in the VIN would distinguish them from any other car.....unless the numbers matched a set in the Yenko list on www.copo.com I've had and L72 and an L78 and the difference is quite obvious.
