I am converting a 4 speed bench '69 SS to a 4 speed buckets with console. When I position the console in place, it 'sits' above the floor pan somewhat. Is this normal? Is the floor pan the same for a bench vs. a bucket application. I know I need the console brackets but something doesn't seem right! Any suggestions? Thanks...

Console cars have a diferent (more rounded) shifter hump. Reproductions are available from most places, they'll run about 60 bucks, give or take.
