I have been told by a few different people in the SoCal area to go to Tim Deal in Huntington Beach for my tranny stuff. He has a great reputation locally. I went to him and spoke to him about upgrading to a 4 speed OD tranny to put behind my mild 350. I use the car for cruising around in no racing except maybe the occasional rice burner!

He highly recommends the 4L60 with a lockup (2100) converter for 4th gear highway cruising. He will do the conversion for me with a fresh 4L60 for a very good price. Does this sound like a good idea?

I put a 700R4 in my 70 five years ago. Its a bolt in, shorten the drive shaft about two inches-40.00--70R4-crate tranny $900.00. Total cost for my conversion at home Labor $000.00 Parts around $1000.00 Total cost $1000.00. What is his Quote? Bob ACES 2825

200-4r is a bolt in by moving the X member back 6.5 inches, no need to shorten the D/S if you have a glide or 350 now. Besides it has better ratios & can be built stronger.
