Someone at work dented my passenger door with theirs or something. It is about an inch verticle. It did not scratch or crack paint at all. The only issue is also the only reason I can't ignore it...it is right on the crisp body line high on the door

do you guys think I have much chance removing it without repsraying the door?

I'd take it to one of those Paintless Dent removal places and let them try. Got nothing to lose and some of those places are very skilled in this type of repair...nifty techniques and tooling.

They "push" from the backside with tools made for the job. Some of these guys/gals do wonders. (As long as the paint is not cracked)

Juts had the paintless dent guys yank 3 dings out of the bedside of my 05 GMC sierra. I was VERY surprised, they are completely gone. Two 3+ inch long creases and one ding the size of a nickle from a metal towel rack falling off another truck and into mine.

Having said that - it is MUCH more difficult to fix dings and dents that are on a crease, seem or where they cannot get inbetween panels (words of the tech). They were about to drill a hole through my wheel well to get inbetween the bed panels until I pulled my drivers side tail light for them. :D

I would call the paintless guys and have them look at it. Either they will say they can get it out (and they truly can) or not. Two big dings cost me $125.00 or so. This guy had all kinds of gadgets, mirrors, dollies, etc.

It can be done but creased and seems are difficult for them. If anything it will look much better but will not be completely gone but they will tell you this when they look at it before working on it.

$$$ if they didnt do it right and or ripped the paint off the metal

i could get it fixed and have the door repainted for $60-70 from a bodyshop back home

i'll take it by and let someone look at it i think

The last time I had it done was from a company called Dent Pro. The guy was very good and after he looked at it, he said he could get it out and if I wasn`t happy with it, I would`nt have to pay for it. Ask the shop if they offer a simialr deal, you got nothing to loose.

About 10 years ago I had a one year old Pontiac Sunfire beat to hell with softball sized hail. A paintless dent removal guy got all dents out and you could not tell were any were. I watched him take a small dent out of the wife's car and it was amazing. They use large mirrors, fluorescent lights, and long pry bars to work the dents out from the inside. They undergo extensive training. It truly works. New paint is rarely as good as the factory finish, and many times the color shade doesn't exactly match.

Same here, same company. They truly rock. I was amazed that he got them all out. I waxed the truck and kept peering down the side looking for any ripple or evidence of the dents. Nothing. Not a single wave, blip...nothing.

I wanted to give the guy a beer and tell him have a seat and throw one back with me.

this is on my chevelle, i hit a dog last summer and it knocked a huge chunk of paint off that he fixed and repainted the entire front fender and buffed that half of the hood and door, the job was a perfect match for the rest of the paint, I took him the paint used on the car to do it

sounds like this is definately worth a try though
