Ouch pop not a goood sound. Can the trans case or housing be welded. Was installing trans and it must of been tilted. I did my side gave my wrench to my helper and heard @#$&^$ and a pop i thought the bolt snap but when i looked it was the housing.It always soomething. But this car has not defeated me yet.. Yes, they can be welded. MIG or TIG. You just have to have the right wire or rod.

Need to make sure it's fixed properly and aligned correctly if you have it welded up. If worse comes to worse, you can cut off the front and use an Ultra-Bell.
