Seems to me this exact thread came up in here a few months ago. I don't believe any 69 SS's came with the rocker moldings, but there was always an exception or something new to learn it seems.

You probably should remove them or you'll never hear the end of it and get so sick of people telling you they are wrong for an SS

Your right Dean he will never hear the end of it. Get the short eyebrows on the grill ends. On a Malibu the extend down the fender to that chrome you are talking about.
I even like the look of the malibu's without that trim.

I guess i will throw my .02 worth in here. I put the rocker mouldings on and left the eyebrow mouldings (the ones in front of the front fender wheel opening) and the rear quarter mouldings(the ones behind the rear wheel opening) off. I put the wheel opening mouldings back on. Now I have a rocker moulding only between the wheels. (dont know why gm didnt think of that , haha) Looks really great. Make it the way you want it Mike and if anyone gives you a hard time ask them if they helped you pay the bills when you restored the car.

Thanks guys your more than likely right about not hearing the end of it. I am also talking about the 3" 0r 4" crome beween the tires not the small strip you see on the Malibu's all the way down the side, just to clear it up.
