Just finished soaking my coil springs in a pail of muriatic acid and washed with POR metal ready.
What's the best way to go from here?
Thanks, Jim

Prime then and use an epoxy paint on them. Epoxy paint will not crack when the springs get compressed. I also used aerosol cans when I did mine. You could also have them powdercoated.

Paint them with anything you want. As far as "cracking", they just don't flex enough to damage just about anything you could put on them. I have painted coils, leafs, and torsion bars with lacquer primer, etch primer, epoxy primer never a problem. I have painted them with acrylic enamel, bc/cc, urethane SS, never a failure of any kind. They flex over a long area, they don't "bend" with a "kink" or something to fracture the paint.

You can do it like the factory did and dip paint them. 5 gallon bucket with enough water to immurse the spring. Pour about a cup of semi gloss black rustolium (sp) and slowly dip the spring. Pull it back out and hang to drip and dry.

If your doing a correct resto , then not all plants painted them , especially the rears FWIW
otherwise powder coat is the way to go IMO
