Im finishing up putting my pertronix in my 72 to do away with the points. The directions say if it doesnt have a ballast resister to wire it to the coil and if it does then im supposed to wire it to the resister. Do 72's have ballast resisters?

They have the equivalent of a ballast resister, a resistive wire from the bulkhead connector to the coil's + terminal.
