I bought a set of door edge mouldings for my '70 Chevelle SS. Were they an option for an SS? Most of the pictures I've seen the SS does not have them installed.

Yes, door edge moldings were an option. If you like the looks of them, and choose to install, beware that if you remove them you may take paint chips off too. I've read that some folks put a small amount of bar soap into the groove when installing, to decrease the chance of the paint issue.
