mikeschevelle Mar 28th, 02, 10:20 AM I have to slam the doors on my 65 Chevelle to get them to shut all the way. The hinges have been rebuilt and this is after I had someone re-align the fenders and doors. That shop told me it needed the handle repaird, which I replaced with new ones. I replaced the strikers. What else can I do? Rich-L79 Mar 28th, 02, 12:59 PM It could simply be that the latch is sticking. Try cleaning and lubricating the latch mechanism in the door. If they are really grungy you might want to pull them out of the door and soak them in a solvent to remove all the years of grime, grit and grease. Then lube them up with a good white litium grease and reinstall them.
