I'm cut out most of the trunk on my 65, but the extentions connecting to the quarters and rear support are still in tac. How do I separate them from the support?

Use a spot weld drill bit to drill out the center of the spot weld. Can get one from Eastwoods or maybe even at some auto stores. You center punch the spot and drill it out, it stops cutting when you get through the first layer of metal.

The spot weld bits don't seem to last very long for the expense. Drill first with a 3/16 bit all the way through. Then follow with a 3/8 and just try to penetrate the first layer. An air chisel is very helpfull after this has been drill, just go easy. Grant

I like to use a spot weld cutter. first drilling a 1/8 hole through bot panels and then drilling out ONLY the through the
unwanted panel. Under the seam sealer along the filler panel flange you'll find spot welds running parallel to the 1/4 panel.
The tailpan filler supports and trunk latch support use the same method. with about 4 on each tilapan support and 8 on the trunk latch support. Happy drilling
