How did you get the lock out? Normally those parts don't ever get replaced.

The ignition switch is available from any GM dealer or most automotive stores. You just ask for the GM tilt column ignition switch GM #1990116.
I am not familiar with A-car suppliers. I am very familiar with Corvette suppliers. The Corvette Tilt &Telescoping steering column from 1969 through 1982 was really just a glorified Saginaw Steering Gear tilt column. So the plastic sector, the small die cast rack, and tilt lock shoes are all interchangeable between these two columns as long as the manufacturing years overlap.
I know of a couple of Corvette suppliers that can supply the rack and sector.
Zip Products 1-800-962-9632:
69-82 Column Bearing & Rack Kit $52 SC-432 (Includes rack, sector, two bearings, and the lock bolt return spring.)
69-82 Ignition Switch $22.50 ES-303
The only place that I am aware that sells the lock shoes is Dr. Rebuild.
There are two different shoes. He identifies them as one with a notch at the top one without. There are two different shoes because they have tilt locking slots that alternate and are not in alignment with each other. Hopefully his description identifies your lock shoes as well.
Dr. Rebuild 1-800-866-9362 Credit card ordering parts only. If you seek information you have to use your own nickle, you must call (203) 366-1332
Also, the prices I have listed from his websight may not be up to date.
Since Dr. Rebuild deals with Corvette parts exclusively, he will not be able to supply technical information on Chevelle tilt column parts. However, by calling their technical line, you may be able to describe your lock shoe and they might be able to tell you if their part matches yours (i.e. number of tilt locking slots, etc). His websight says "2 Req'd" for each shoe - that is not correct.
He lists the following shoes.
69-82 Tilt Lock Shoe without notch 6521144 $23.30
69-82 Tilt Lock Shoe with notch at top 6521146 $23.30
The other parts from Dr. Rebuild are as follows:
(Again, be aware that the prices are not up to date.)
69-82 Ignition Switch 2187210 $14.95?
69-76 Ignition Switch Toothed Sector Wheel 2187412 $9.85?
69-82 Ignition Switch Actuator Toothed Rack Only 2187426 $8.00?
There is a company in New York that specializes in refurbishing all types of steering columns. I am sure that they can supply parts or rebuild your entire column. They are very good. They are not cheap. Their websight:

Feel free to send me a message if you are stumped. Also, I would like to know about your success!
Good luck,
Jim

A Dent puller with machine screw attached works well.
