I have an original GM dash pad that is black in color and I ordered some vinyl paint from NPD thats dark green. Im having a problem getting it to cover the black but I cant just use regular primer on it since primer isnt flexable. Should I just keep painting with the green hoping to get enough on to cover the black? I bought 2 cans and ive only used half of one and the green is finally showing so should I just keep covering?

Might make a call to NPD or even your local upholstry shop.

Clean off the primer and get some SEM cleaner. Then try some Bulldog adhesion promoter. After that use your color or get some SEM stuff. You should be able to get what ever you need from your local upholstry shop as Rod said above.

I didnt use any primer. I went ahead and just covered the whole thing and used a can and a half of one and finally got a good color. I just hope its not too dark. But I dont think itll matter since im gonna have to replace it with a stereo speaker one anyway.
