I've heard of these, do they show you how the metal in the body of the car welds together? I'm looking for a manual that shows how the inner pieces and braces of the body weld to the outer ones, and how everything fits together.

No, they do not show this.These manuals show how window stuff goes together and where wires are routed and so on. It is a bit like the assembly manual , but for the little body things.
